Christmas Memorial Service 2020

We will remember them

Charlton Park Crematorium held a Christmas Memorial Service to pay their respects to the special people looked after here. During the songs of this service, we have listed the names of each person whose cremation has taken place here at Charlton Park between January 1st and December 17th.

Your loved one is in our thoughts even if their name is not listed in the video and so we have also compiled a full list of the names of the people who have received care at Charlton Park Crematorium during 2020, which you can find below the Memorial Service video.

You can watch the full Christmas Memorial Service below.

12 Ways of Christmas

One of our gifts to you this year is our "12 Ways of Christmas List". Below you will find 12 ways to remember lost loved ones this year and how to make the most out of the festive period during a season of mixed emotions.

  1. Create a memorial bauble / wreath and place on your Christmas tree or door – personalise this with favourite festive memories of you and your loved one
  2. Hang a Christmas stocking and invite your nearest and dearest to place hand written memories and letters to your loved one in it
  3. Arrange some family time at your loved ones favourite place – this could be a lovely opportunity to share some poignant family time together and share special memories – a lovely relaxed way to incorporate memories of christmas’ past in to your Christmas present or boxing day
  4. A beautiful and simple way to remember your loved ones is to light a ceremonial candle in their memory
  5. Think of a charitable cause that would have been close to their hearts and make a donation on their behalf -a positive way to remember them and make a difference
  6. During your festive meal – raise a glass to those that are there in spirit – don’t be afraid to show emotion and admit they are missed
  7. Create a new tradition based on the foundations of what they enjoyed most about the festive season
  8. Honour them by embracing family traditions that they upheld and that were special to them – share happy memories with younger members of the family – keep their spirit alive though the spirit of Christmas
  9. Get creative – Create a festive paper chain for your tree or house by writing Christmas memories on coloured papers and linking them together – a great way to encourage children to talk about those that have passed and listen to how they are feeling too
  10. Take comfort from those around you – strike the right balance for you between having time alone and surrounding yourself with those that care about you and cared about them
  11. Buy something they would have liked and enjoyed and gift it to someone less fortunate and alone this Christmas
  12. Volunteer your time and help a charity to spread good will at Christmas to those that are finding life hard – take comfort in the positive impact you can continue to have on others
